Write for us

Genuine Football Guide welcomes pitches that help readers understand association football more clearly. Send a proposal through the Contact page and select the editorial question option; please do not submit a finished article unless we have requested one.

Topics that fit

We are interested in clear, evergreen explanations of rules, tactics, positions, formations and match reading. A strong idea begins with a real question a curious spectator might ask and offers a precise answer that does not assume specialist knowledge.

What to include in a pitch

Briefly state the question, your proposed answer, the reader it would help and the examples you would use. Tell us what makes the subject distinct from existing coverage. If a claim depends on a particular competition or interpretation of the rules, explain how you would make that context clear.

Our approach

We favour original explanations, careful distinctions and readable structure over jargon or sweeping claims. We may ask for revisions to improve clarity, accuracy or fit. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication.
